Arts & Entertainment

More than Movies & Paint…

In the United States, it seems as if the realm of arts and entertainment is devoid of positive values, focusing instead on degrading and discouraging depictions of life. We believe the arts and popular entertainment should

inspire and uplift,

extolling virtue,

promoting truth and

celebrating the best of humanity.

While the promotion of truth will require depictions of the darker side of human nature, these depictions should not be celebrated or emphasized to the exclusion of the possibility or hope of redemption.

Through

creativity and strategic thinking,

arts and entertainment can provide an appealing avenue for truth — where real heroes are honored and goodness and virtue are celebrated. The use of arts and entertainment to inspire and encourage is not “anti-culture” and does not display a hatred of technology. Nor should we should excuse or justify mediocrity — poorly written or produced entertainment — with the excuse that the “right values” are being promoted.

Artists and entertainers should celebrate their God-given creative gifts through a commitment to excellence that results in uplifting, thought-provoking, and hope-filled productions.

Those interested in arts and entertainment must have:

1. A commitment to quality that displays one’s creative ability in a competitive industry.

2. An inspiring and uplifting message or presentation, filled with hope, honesty, courage and goodness.

3. A passion for creating appealing and compelling works of art that provides an alternative to the culture’s typically cynical or discouraging view of life.

4. A heart and mind that are determined and confident.
