Columnist Ross Douthat argues in the New York Times that Brit Hume was well within the American tradition of religious freedom by making a public case for Tiger Woods to turn to Christianity in light of the revelations about his multiple violations of his marriage vows. Yet many American commentators seem outraged that a public figure would make such a suggestion on national television. Do you agree with Ross or with Brit Hume’s critics?
