Of the five, I've only seen "UP" (which is encouraging, fun, humorous -- love the dogs). I'm intrigued with "Precious" and plan to see it soon. It is a vexing social problem -- especially difficult to portray on film in an accurate way. And it is far more prevalent than the faith community (really, any of us) wants to believe. Sexual wounding is experienced in many forms and at many levels, especially in a culture like ours, and it does great damage to the soul. There are no easy answers, but recognizing the problem is the first step to finding ways to offer healing and hope.

I saw "Precious" and while it was a PHENOMENAL film, it was incredibly disturbing and lacked hope (in my opinion). I went to see the movie with a friend and we both looked at each other at the end of the movie and said, "well, what do we do with that?" The movie Precious left me with no action, meaning that I felt as if there was nothing I could "do," even if I wanted to. I thought the film was incredible and some of the best acting I've ever seen, but it leaves the viewer with a sense of hopelessness and/or no action. What could we do to help the young women like Precious? This question was far from answered in the movie...or maybe that was the point?

I'd have to rate Chariots of Fire a little higher. More modern films that could make the list are Signs, and maybe even the recent release The Book of Eli.

What an amazing trend this article identifies within the American workplace. Reformation always begins with the spiritual -- hearts first, then transformational change follows. Just consider the opportunities for influence and change where you are. Business leaders (and leaders in all areas of influence) can take their faith into their professional lives ... and it works.

This Video touched my heart. I am very passionate about the abortion issue in our world today. I am excited that Nick Cannon decided to take a stand by sharing his very personal story. By doing this he has decided to take a stand for Justice. I hope this will inspire everyone to get involved, and take a stand against abortion. May we have the boldness that Nick Cannon has.
